Hachnosas Sefer Torah in Yeka
Wild dancing and singing were heard in the streets of the Rebbe’s city last Thursday as a new Sefer Torah was donated to the Yeshiva’s Levi Yitzchok. The Sefer Torah with its hundred year old history which includes surviving the pogroms of the early 1900’s to escaping the clutches of the evil hand of the Communistic “Iron Curtain” is a true symbol of Jewish perseverance.
With meticulous and painstaking effort the head Sofer to Deneper and Mashpia in the Yeshiva, Reb Rueven Margolin worked for many months writing many new parshios for it and to gave it a real make over.
The entire community came out to sing and dance in honor of the new Torah, welcoming it to its new and final home. Hakafos were held in the Yeshiva’s Shul and went on for many hours followed by a grand seudah.
