SIMFOROPAL MADE IT INTO SONG!

CHANUKAH AROUND THE WORLD WITH CHABAD

Let Them Live by Bloody Rainbow

Chorus: Peace be upon them Peace be upon them Let them live Let them live *2 Let them live in our homes And in our hearts and in our souls Let them live Let them live *2 Trying to merge our differences We really paid the cost Forcing our chooses upon our friends Claming that the difference is lost I can see a time I can envision the day When we’ll stand hand in hand and we’ll say You and I we’re not the same I won’t change u U won’t change me We’ll just let each other live and be Cause our differences are what makes us we Chorus:

New song from Bloody Rainbow

Chorus:

Rebuild the temple as it should be Make it a dwelling place for me Said the L-rd *2

Building reaching for the sky for the people below ‘Cause it’s not about you but what you have to show You know a good day when you get up to sing Sometimes you stay up all night and just scream

You’re one of a million in a city that’s drowning Climbing sky scrapers to breathe some air Material is collapsing as you fill with despair Thoughts rush through your mind why me L-rd it’s not fair

Chorus : *2

You look to the elders for you’re salvation But they are lost in what they call divine meditation It’s you’re life that’s at stake but it seems they don’t care So you stand there alone with your own problems to bear

You’re one of a million in a city that’s drowning Climbing sky scrapers to breathe some air Material is collapsing as you fill with despair Thoughts rush through your mind why me L-rd it’s not fair

You’re one of a million in a city that’s drowning Climbing sky scrapers to breathe some air Material is collapsing as you fill with despair Thoughts rush through your mind L-rd don’t leave me behind

Chorus:

Oh the L-rd has begged

The Journey to the Carpathian Mountains

The trip from Dnepropetrovsk to the Carpathian Mountains takes over 24 hours by train. They normally buy 3rd Class tickets. Here’s a description of the ride, taken from a Ukrainian Travel site:

3rd Class – Platzcart

Not the best choice. Each carriage has 54 berths, among which 36 berths of normal type (in cabins) and 18 side located (along the passageway). Berths are in two levels. Cabins have no doors and cannot be closed. There are boxes for luggage below lower level berths in cabins, and small luggage niches below side located ones. Under the upper level berths there are small berths for storing the luggage. Each carriage has WCs with washing-stands, 2 per each carriage. One or two stewards serve every carriage. In spite of very low quality of 3rd class carriages they are popular in Ukraine, the reason is their very low tickets price.

Sounds bad, but it could be worse. This is 3rd class. There are 4th and 5th class options too!

And then there is always the traditional option...

But the advantage of taking the train is that after being in that cabin for over 24 hours, when you finally get to the mountains and you step off the train, you actually believe that the air is fresh!

Were Off to Karpaty

Thanks to all Yekoids for your prayers and the weird rituals, it worked boys there's snow for winter camp Hallelujah ! So tomorrow at 3:00pm were off to spend some 25 hours of quality time with some smelly filthy Russian peasants on a train (not Mercedes buses) for our skiing trip. Wish us luck in getting down those hills in one piece.

Chanukah in Mironova

Dovid Yagudchenko
Chanukah hear started off brilliantly with all the kids pumped up about all the festivities. Motzie Shabbos we had a grand “Latkes Uvent” and Driedel tournament. The latkes were created by our very own Grand Chef Abrasha. Chef Abrasha, who used the special recipe given over great-great-great-grandmother to grandson, made each latke with special care and zeal. Special thanks to the kids of Mironovo for helping out, especially Pogi who nearly blinded himself with the onions! We also sent off some of our “Starshi” on Shlichus we wish them lots of hotzlocha.

Sunday was a fully packed day. Starting off with an amazing musical performance by the “malchai”. Later, right after we lit menorah together, we all packed onto a “marsherutka” that took us to the grand home of the Director of Tzivos Hashem to the “Former” U.S.S.R., Yossi Glick. There we were treated to the finest of meals giving us some taste of the real world back home. We then with very full stomach’s got on our way to……. Katuck(ice skating)! When we got there the lines were out the door and we thought we had no chance in getting in. But thanks to wonderful Russian mentality another 5 griv per person created a new V.I.P. branch to building and we had a terrific time (oh god how we love this place). Thanks to Yossi and Sara for being such wonderful hosts.

Monday night we had a superb Chanukah party in the house one of our dearest teacher’s Menachem Kurtzwiel. He first told an amazing breathtaking story, and we were then treated to some delicious latkes and nosh. We all sat around chilled played driedel and enjoyed the nice homely feel. Thank you Menachem and Dalya for arranging such a great party.

Tuesday we came into yeshiva to sight of another Chanukah miracle. A fire had started after we left the night before from a fallen candle but thank god it did little damage before a guard finally saw it and put it out. That night the kids were really pleased to have some sponsors coming over and giving each kid 5$. We thank them for that!

Hello Dear Friends - from Sholom Mendelson

The Aunt of Mironova

For all those that were in Pesach camp, this might just be a familiar face (the cook). Well it’s about time you learn her real line of work. This lady really deserves a lot of credit.
“The Aunt of Mironova” is not just a title. Totya Valya is a very hard working individual, who spends all her time caring for the boys and tending to their needs. The moment they wake up and hear her gentle and pleasing “good morning,” the boys are ready for a new day. To prepare fifty boys for school in the morning is not easy. But looking at her, you’d never notice it. By her it’s all with a smile - smiles all around. Let’s not forget that last night till three in the morning she was washing their laundry and ironing their shirts. The boys are going to look good and she will make sure of it. Shoes are polished and teeth are brushed - these are all of important concern.
“What” or “how” is not of importance to her. If it has to get done than she will do it. There is more to this aunt then just the regular Vospitatel. She cares for every one of the boys as if they were her own, making sure they are happy in school and have good friends. She is concerned by how they feel from the moment they wake up, till they go to sleep at night. Nothing is too much for the Rebbe's children.
Thank you very much Totya Valya. We really appreciate the way you are helping us with our Shlichus and we wish you many more years and much success in all your work.
The Directors
