Our Lag Baomer Experience

It all began a day before lag baomer when we found out that there wouldnt be a community bonfire for lag baomer. So Yossi Telesefsky decided to take action. phone calls, food, money from nowhere things where just flying everywhere. then it began and people didnt stop coming, more and more, at least 250 people showed up and thats a for real number. the program started with a rally pasukim, story and of course tickets all over the place. then the bonfire, thanks to the stambler family for donating to light the fire. People were in such good spirits everyone was dancing. raffle, remote control cars chess sets... then the entertainers, blowing fire, juggling the works the kids where spell bound. all in all it was a huge success and a ground breaker for the coming years.

Lag baomer morning we woke up early to get ready for the parade. we are heading out the door and we see yossi t. running out with his suitcase and jumping in a taxi, he's off to moishies wedding. we decorated the tank, get in the costumes and fasten the straps of the drums and off we were. before they know it they are banging dadadum dadadum its flowing. people were all excited and bouncing to the music. after 45 minutes of marching through the city along with thousands of people. we arrived at huge auditorium where we played one last grand finally on stage. there was all types of performances, monkeys running around, people standing on balls, the cheder boys did a great job singing very nice lag baomer songs. we made are way back to mironova to eat lunch and rest up.

we bialy had a chance to even space out a little before we were on our way to camp gan yisroel. along with us came the anash boys. now this place is a camp ground that is owned by the community but was abandoned about 10 years ago. as soon as we got there we felt right at home from being greeted by a huge gan izzy sign to seeing yechi spray painted on the walls. we felt the many years of camps, hard work and lots of fun soaked in the place. the kids were off to explore, fishing, bonfires and bbq were happening all over the place. a huge soccer game was in full swing. the sun was setting and it was time to go we were stuffed to the brim with 20 kilos of meat left over. we fare weld gan israel good bye and headed to the buses. thank you rebbe for giving us memory full lag baomer.
